Domaine Les Goelands

COUNTRY, REGION, SUBREGION
Philippe Delmee was a maths teacher who was tired of the constraints of the classroom - he made the move to winemaking in 2006. After studying for two years, he started working with Benoit Courault and Domaines des Griottes, and Benoit helped him find a one-hectare parcel in Faye d’Anjou.
He farms around 6ha across 16 parcels around Faye d’Anjou and Faveraye; the soils are mostly porous sand and schist with only a little clay.
The vines are a mix of Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Franc, Grolleau and some Pineaud'Aunis.
Sulphur is only added in the pied de cuvee for each wine.
Silky, smooth oily texture, yet refreshingly bright with lots of acidity. Perly, lemony, citrus, apricot - some deep flavours!
