Second vintage of this Schwarzriesling / Pinot Meunier Pet-Nat from the bat vineyard. Zero sulfur added.

Winemaking: In 2014, Michael and Melanie took over a Müller-Thurgau-vineyard from a colleague; the vineyard has a hut in the middle of it which they and local conservationist, Christian Söder, thought looked like a perfect home for bats. Several bat-boxes were installed, the guano is sold as fertiliser, and a share of the revenue goes back to protection of bat habitats. The label shows the rare grey long-eared bat.
Harvested in September 2016. 50% of the berries crushed (after destemming), skin contact time of 48h before pressing. Bottled in the end of November with 17g/l of residual sugar and disgorged warmly in July 2017.
