Until the 1980s, Aramon was 50% of Languedoc vineyards, now only 0.3%. Grapes that are suited to the heat of the Languedoc, ripening with lower alcohol and higher acid than you would expect. Pale in colour, bright in fruit with a deceptively strong tannic structure

Vintage: 2016

Hand harvested, natural yeasts. Whole bunches in concrete vat. No punching down or pumping over. Six to eight days' maceration for the Aramon, Cinsault and Carignan, 10-12 days' maceration for the Grenache. Aged 6 months in concrete tanks

Sulphur: None added

Soil: Gres and Clay-sand. Subsoil is old sea bed

Yield: 45hl/ha
