We are very pleased to say that this year's allocation of Beaujolais Nouveau from Séléné has been secured: and the wine we tasted this morning with Mathilde & Sylvere is absolutely delicious.
We arrived in Beaujolais not knowing what to expect, 2026 has been beyond a trying year for the growers here. Intense temperatures and a devastating hailstorm on July 16th have hammered yields. Mathilde & Sylvere in particular had suffered up to 80% losses across all of their parcels.
But we were happily surprised to see Matilde & Sylvere in good spirits, with tanks of wine with great energy. We enjoyed a jovial casse-croute together, including a phenomenal Saucisson au gène - saucisson & pork cooked in grape marc. In a year as difficult as this, we're counting ourselves very lucky to have any primeur to offer at all. Supporting Mathilde & Sylvere at this time is very important to us.
